The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that every child visit an orthodontist by age seven or even sooner if a problem is detected by parents or the family dentist. The first permanent molars and incisors have usually come in by that time and cross-bites, crowding, and other problems can be evaluated. When treatment is begun early, the orthodontist can guide the growth of the jaw and guide incoming permanent teeth. Ultimately, early orthodontic treatment may prevent more serious problems from developing, or make treatment at a later age shorter and less complicated.
Drs. Luposello and Marzban provide child braces for residents in McLean, Tysons Corner, Vienna, Falls Church, Arlington, Fairfax, VA, Bethesda, MD and the greater Washington DC area. Schedule a consultation today if you are interested in braces for children.
