About Dr. Lim

As there are many sayings about a person's smile, I too believe a smile can change lives and empower people. When I was 8 years old, I had a traumatic incident that caused a severe injury and displacement of my upper incisor. I spent many years trying to hide my teeth when smiling until I met my orthodontist, who transformed my smile and sparked my interest in orthodontics.

I grew up in Hampton Roads, Virginia and have always felt passionate about science and research. After graduating from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Biology, I began working as a research specialist at the National Institute of Health. To pursue my goal of becoming an orthodontist, I completed my dental training at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and continued with the orthodontic training at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. I have been practicing orthodontics in Hartford, Connecticut and now back in McLean, Virginia. I’m happy to finally be back home in Virginia and excited to meet new patients!

It is an honor and a privilege to be an orthodontist. I love creating beautiful smiles that can transform people’s lives and change how they feel about themselves. I aim to treat patients as if they were part of my extended family and consider that the best part of being an orthodontist is to be able to build long-term relationships with patients and their families. I enjoy lifelong learning and keeping up with emerging technology and advancements in orthodontics. Every day I feel fortunate to have a career that empowers people and promotes confidence and self-esteem.

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and hope to visit as many destinations as I can. I also enjoy hiking, visiting local restaurants to sample new cuisines and love watching movies and my favorite TV channel, the Food Network.
